Tiki Tiki Tiki! Kern River Surf Co Short-SleeveT-Shirt
$30.00
Believed by some scholars at the Kern River Institute to signify early Polynesian-inland cultural exchange, this depiction of the enigmatic “Tiki, Tiki, Tiki” serves as both artifact and apparel—blending river lore with disputed pre-colonial contact theory.
A bold tribute to Kern River’s most mysterious deity, “Tiki, Tiki, Tiki!” blends surf culture, ancient legend, and valley heat into one fiery icon. Kern River Surf Co approved.
Made from 100% ring-spun cotton and blessed by the gods of comfort and questionable style choices, this tee is your new go-to. Double stitching means it survives bonfires, bar fights, and maybe even lawn darts.
• 100% ring-spun cotton
• Sport Grey is 90% ring-spun cotton, 10% polyester
• 4.5 oz/yd² (153 g/m²)
• Shoulder-to-shoulder taping
• Quarter-turned to avoid crease down the center
Disclaimer: Due to the fabric properties, the white color variant may appear off-white rather than bright white. In the blazing tropical sun you won’t notice.
You order it, we make it. Revolutionary, right? It’s a little slower, but so is the float down from Hart Park. At least we’re not stuffing landfills while you wait.
Recent discoveries by the Kern River Institute for Mythological Anthropology (KRIMA) suggest that pre-Columbian trans-Pacific contact may have occurred not along the coast, but far inland—where the Kern River now carves its way through the Central Valley.
The so-called Kern River Tiki Hypothesis gained traction in the late 1970s after a series of tiki-style carvings were unearthed near the banks of the river, alongside discarded lawn chairs and an anomalously weathered boogie board. Scholars remain divided, but one artifact stands out: a fierce, stylized figure referred to in early KRIMA field notes simply as “Tiki, Tiki, Tiki.”
Rendered here in blazing valley tones of yellow, orange, and red, the image is said to ward off upstream winds, boost board stability, and possibly summon shave ice. Whether a remnant of forgotten cultural exchange or an elaborate hoax perpetuated by local teens, the Tiki remains one of Kern River’s most iconic—and least understood—symbols.
This shirt commemorates that academic ambiguity. Wear it with pride. And maybe sunscreen.
Only at Kern River Surf Co, where myths run deep and the water runs faster.
