There’s just one problem: nobody can seem to find the bridge.
Ask a Bakersfield grown-up where F Street crosses the Kern River and there’s a good chance they’ll tell you they remember it. They rode bikes there. They skated there. They probably did something their parents specifically told them not to do there.
Then hand them a map.
Suddenly, things get complicated.
According to Kern River Surf Co lore, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation: the F Street Bridge can only be found by kids. And lurking underneath it is the legendary F Street Monster, a many-tentacled river creature with a suspicious fondness for surfboards, skateboards and kids adventurous enough to wander beyond the edge of the map.
